Tonight’s big People Vs GCW show at The Hammerstein Ballroom was put on hold for a time after a serious injury.

During her match with Effy to determine who GCW Champion Mance Warner would face in the main event of the evening, Allie Katch injured her ankle. Diving to the floor, her leg got caught under her. Her ankle then bent in a very awkward position.

An official called the match as Effy broke character due to his concern for Katch, checking on her. Warner would come out and attack Effy so that Katch could be brought to the backstage area to receive medical attention.

Before the next match could begin the New York City Athletic Commission forced GCW to put the event on pause for about 15 minutes or so while a second ambulance arrived and was ready on site as the other had taken Katch (Alison Woodard) to a local hospital to receive medical attention.

During that time, the teams of Homicide, Grim Reefer, The Amazing Red and Tony Deppen, Kerry Morton and Griffin McCoy cut promos on each other to pass the time and keep fans entertained.

“It is part of the Commission’s rules and we thank you for your patience,” stated commentator Dave Prazak once action began again.

At press time there is no update on Allie Katch’s condition.
