Saturday evening is upon us yet again! Maximum Carnage carries over from Wednesday and the main event tonight will be a 12-man tag-team match pitting Rated FTR, The Outrunners & Powerhouse Hobbs against Death Riders & The Learning Tree. It’s sure to include carnage to the max. Get it? Because AEW’s streaming and simulcasting on Max? I’ll stop.

The show opens with the faces in the massive tag-match. Hobbs highlights that his leg isn’t at 100% but he’s going to fight regardless. It’ll take more than an injured leg to knock down the Powerhouse.

1. Adam “Hangman” Page vs. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels in a Texas Death Match

It doesn’t take long for the blood to start flowing in this one.

An intensely physical match that is 90% dominated by the eventual victor.

Winner: Adam Page via count-out.

Page gives Daniels an Angel Wings after the conclusion, with refs and trainers tending to the Fallen Angel.

Tony Schiavone interviews Toni Storm. She says her dreams are finally coming true. Grand Slam will be in her home town and in the building where she watched her first live wrestling show. Sporting the platinum hair in a different style, she talks about her upcoming title match against Mariah May in Australia next month and says she’d like to introduce herself to the champion next week on Collision.

Separately, MVP tells Private Party they should give Hurt Syndicate members Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin a shot at the tag titles next week.

2. Undisputed Kingdom vs. Shane Taylor Promotions

Adam Cole starts off against the ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty.

Today I learned that Shaun Dean was in the US Navy for four years before he became a wrestler.

Now that’s what I call high-octane!

Winners: Undisputed Kingdom via Kyle O’Reilly pinning Shawn Dean.

Shane Taylor introduces himself to the Undisputed Kingdom. Daniel Garcia comes out to stop the beatdown. All three Undisputed Kingdom members stare at Garcia’s TNT title after clearing STP from the ring.

Will Ospreay was backstage and said he and Kenny Omega need to talk on Wednesday. Their common link is Don Callis and Ospreay says this thing is bigger than both men.

3. Lance Archer and Brian Cage vs. Top Flight

The Murderhawk and the Machine are arguably the most intimidating duo in all of AEW. They go right at their opponents, rushing them as the bell rings.

This one doesn’t take long. Cage and Archer show that carnage can be efficient.

Winners: Cage pins Dante Martin.

Action Andretti rushes out. But he’s just a distraction as Lio Rush attacks the Martin brothers from behind. I’m still not sure what those jackets are supposed to represent. But I kind

Chris Jericho reminds everyone (specifically Jon Moxley) of their history and says they need to be united tonight in the main event.

The Acclaimed come out to address their issues. The crowd boos Max Caster, cheering loudly when Anthony Bowens calls him out for lying. Billy Gunn comes out in an attempt to smooth things over between the former tag-team champions but Caster says he’s been benefiting from their success without playing a part. Caster demands Bowens picks between him and Gunn. He flips off Caster before scissoring with Gunn.

4. Tomohiro Ishii vs. Kazuchika Okada for the Continental Championship

“Both these guys!” chants ring out from the crowd before the two start.

The history between these two is no secret. Former CHAOS members and having shared the ring hundreds of times as tag team partners and against each other.

Using a classic trick, Okada “earns” a physical, hard victory over his former stablemate. But he uses a low blow so did he really earn it?

Winner: Okada retains via pinfall.

5. Dustin Rhodes vs. Adam Priest

“The Natural” went for a handshake early but Adam Priest wanted no part of it.

Two Cross Rhodes ended it.

Winner: Dustin Rhodes via pinfall.

6. Harley Cameron vs. Julia Hart

Harley Cameron looks to get revenge after Julia Hart sprayed her eyes with the mist during the inaugural AEW Women’s Casino Gauntlet. She comes out wearing shades, her eyes still feeling the effects of the attack Wednesday.

Cameron consistently sells the effects of the mist attack, going to her eyes again and again. But it doesn’t help when your opponent goes right for the inflicted area. Hart attackers Cameron’s eyes before landing big shots and ragdolling her head on the mat a number of times.

An Iron Octopus in the middle of the ring does not end it but Hart takes advantage of her weakened opponent.

Despite getting some solid offense of herself in, Cameron is unable to get revenge. She makes Cameron tap out.

Winner: Julia Hart via submission.

Samoa Joe will face Nick Wayne next week on Dynamite.

It’s revealed that Chris Jericho attacked Hobbs’ leg backstage with a baseball bat. As if we needed another reason to not like the Nueve.

7. Rated FTR, the Outrunners, and Will Hobbs vs. Death Riders and the Learning Tree

Powerhouse Hobbs is notwith his team to start, as Big Bill brings Hobbs’ brace to the ring as a trophy of sorts.

It understandably doesn’t take long for the action to get very out of hand. Something tells me one ref is not enough to keep control of 12 individuals. The math isn’t mathing. Bryan Keith gets beat up by a kid in the front row. Everyone loves pro wrestling!

Chris Jericho tags in Jon Moxley and the two have a quick chat before Moxley gets to work. Dax Harwood takes a beating from a number of his opponents, unable to get a tag for a long while until he gets Cope in the match. Jericho counters a Spear with a Codebreaker. Sorry… a Copebreaker. Ugh.

Pac shows up and boots Cope as he invites himself to the Carnage.

“MEAT!” chants ring out as Hobbs returns, hobbling on one leg and begging for a tag and laying waste to Jericho and Keith before staring down Big Bill. The two go at it. Big Bill looks to overpower Hobbs. But he learns quickly you can’t overpower

Winners: Powerhouse Hobbs pins Bryan Keith.

Summary

I was expecting the main event to get out of hand quickly. It was a massive main event that had a bit of everything. Stories were advanced and the action in the ring did not lack.

Night two of Maximum Carnage delivered.
