Ring of Honor had its ROH Death Before Dishonor X iPPV Saturday night, and while there may again have been some issues with the online streaming, the in-ring action saw the crowning of new tag champions and Matt Hardy stick himself into a storyline.

The iPPV, from the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, IL, saw an interesting mix of established ROH talent and a few notable newcomers.

In the main event, Kevin Steen retained the ROH World title, turning back the challenge of Rhino. It was a wild No DQ bout that saw Steve Corino, Jimmy Jacobs, Michael Elgin, and Roderick Strong all interfere at various points. It also appears that Elgin is done with the House of Truth, and has his sights set on Steen’s World title, as Elgin takes on the champ in Mississauga, Ontario, on October 13th at Glory by Honor XI.

The ROH tag team tournament, which was established when Kenny King, half of the champions, left the promotion for TNA, saw two semi-finals and the finals, all in one night. In the first semi, Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs knocked off the young challengers Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander; in the other semi, the odd couple of Charlie Haas and Rhett Titus worked together to defeat The Briscoes. In the finals, Corino and Jacobs beat Haas and Titus, but perhaps most notably, Haas’ regular partner, Shelton Benjamin, and knocked out Titus, leading to Jacobs crawling over to score the pin.

Matt Hardy had been advertised as making a pro-show autograph appearance at Death Before Dishonor X, and sat down at the announcers table to offer up guest commentary for the ROH TV title defence by champ Adam Cole against Mike Mondo. Cole ended up defeating Mondo, and following the bout, Hardy got into the ring, shook the hands of both men, and then got on the microphone and bad-mouthed Cole.

In other bouts, ACH made his ROH debut, but lost to Kyle O’Reilly; Tadarius Thomas beat Silas Young; Jay Lethal beat Homicide; and The House of Truth team of Michael Elgin and Roderick Strong beat Jake and Dave Crist, known as The Irish Airborne.

As for the live stream, many fans had difficulty logging into the iPPV at the Ring of Honor website.
